Builders Exchange of Michigan is a nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering accurate and timely reporting on commercial construction activity throughout Michigan. The organization recently became an official Partner of Michigan Construction.
Members of Builders Exchange receive statewide coverage of construction projects in Michigan that are in the planning and bidding phase, with full accessibility to a virtual planning room for their own projects. They also get access to vital information on construction trends, collaboration tools to streamline the estimating and bidding process, and even have the opportunity to attend networking events and special training courses.
Builders Exchange has a number of events coming up in early 2020.
Winter Print Reading & Specifications Course
Print Reading and Specifications is a 7-week basic level course that will teach participants to navigate through a complete set of commercial construction documents. The course will also provide a review of the CSI “MasterFormat: Project Manual Divisions (00 thru 49)” and will teach various methods of expressing a commercial building in a drawing. The first class takes place on Tuesday, January 7, with the final class taking place on February 18.

BX HOT Winter Safety & Networking Series: Lead Awareness
Join Tammy K. Clark at the Builders Exchange of Michigan for a safety seminar focused on lead awareness! This course is perfect for employees who work on projects that have been shown to contain lead, or for employees who will be working around containment areas in which lead materials are being abated or removed. This class is exclusive to our members. Bonus - pizza will be provided!

OSHA Certification
This 10-hour construction industry certification course takes place over the course of two days and provides basic hazard awareness, recognition, avoidance, and correction for employees who work on construction sites. The course provides information on the OSHA/MIOSHA agencies, construction standards, the Focus Four categories of accidents (falls, electrical, struck-by and caught-in-between), construction PPE, ladder safety, hands-on activities and lots of Q&A time. Bonus - your course fee includes a student card and a pizza lunch!
