READY. SET. BUILD! is an informational workforce expo that showcases the skilled trades throughout the construction industry. Job seekers will learn about the various trades through hands-on demonstrations and video presentations. Attendees will also meet union apprenticeship school directors and interact with contractors to learn the process for entering the construction industry. The Expo will provide information about job opportunities available during the construction of Bedrock developments including: the Hudson’s Site, Wayne County Criminal Justice Center and Monroe Blocks projects.
As you may know, there are many construction projects set to take place throughout Detroit over the next several years. As part of these projects, developers, union partners and contractors are setting out to maximize participation of local residents to ensure viable careers are created and economic stability grows throughout the neighborhoods of Detroit and Wayne County.
Bedrock Detroit is kicking off with three projects in Detroit that will need the help of area residents to fill skilled trades positions to complete construction. These projects include the Hudson’s Site Development, Wayne County Criminal Justice Center and Monroe Blocks, to name a few.
You can help Detroit and Wayne County residents get prepared to enter the trades by sharing this information about READY. SET. BUILD!
