Construction Jobs in Michigan: Work for Osborne Concrete

Written by Heather Smith | Jul 26, 2018

One of the most trusted names in Romulus, Michigan, Osborne Concrete Co. has been supplying the area with building supplies since 1965. Currently, it is the third generation of the original founder that still runs things.

HISTORY

Founded in 1965 by Charles and Genevieve Osborne with their sons John David and Bruce.  Current Owners are Dave (John D. Sr) and his wife Donna along with their children Deanna, Dena and John Jr. Started out with 3 trucks and a 3 ½ yard dry batch plant at the corner of Northline and Wayne Rd (which is now part of the Detroit Metro Runway).

TODAY

Their current facility which was built in 1999 is on 18 acres. They have 15 concrete mixer trucks and 20 gravel trains with their sister company John D Osborne Trucking.  While getting away to Florida from the harsh Michigan winters, during the summer Dave (at the age of 80) is still at the plant every day and takes pride in his work.  He is a jack of all trades, loading customers, running for parts and doing whatever else needs to be done.  His three children are actively involved in the business. John Jr and Dena run the dispatch office for both companies and Deanna runs the front office.

They are a small family orientated business, a majority of their employees have over a decade of experience, but always looking for new faces to add to their team.  Currently they are looking for Gravel Train Drivers and Concrete Mixer Truck Drivers.  Click the link to apply.
